They say that breaking up is hard to do. And boy, do I know this is true. You see, I’ve been trying to break up with a few bad habits for awhile now.
Wait.
That’s not 100% true. I’ve been THINKING about it, working up to taking some action.
I realize, that as a holistic health preaching, intuitive life coaching, energy healing practitioner that I am full of $&%t if I continue treating my body like a second class citizen. Technically, that’s hypocrisy.
It’s time for me to end the love-hate relationship I have with sugar and sugar substitutes – it’s time for a full throttle sugar detox.[divider]
Because this could be a potentially difficult break-up, I’ve been doing my research to get prepared so I don’t have any lapses. Goodness knows I don’t need to have any pity party sugar binges to satisfy my sweet tooth and sabotage all my progress.
No, the key is planning, preparation, and practice – which I have been doing so that I will be ready to make this leap come Monday morning.
My approach to the sugar detox:
Ms. Diane has provided a lengthy and informative e-book that outlines the 21 day sugar detox program, as well as a supplement guide and FAQ’s/What to Expect guide. I am rather impressed with the effort she put into a thorough program – shopping lists, recipes, tips and tricks.
My favorite part is the “YES” list – these are the foods that I can focus on having and enjoying, and psychologically I believe this will help me keep my attention in a positive spin, considering I won’t be thinking about what I can’t have. See – this program is brilliant!
I’ve taken a similar approach to health and weight loss before – but that was back in 2001 – eleven years ago. Back then, I followed the Body Type diet, which essentially had me on a no-sugar with lean proteins menu. It worked for me. Once my cravings subside, I can coast on my new found energy and the confidence that I am being nice and loving to my body.
If you’ve been thinking about taking better care of your body, starting a health transition, losing weight, or raising your personal vibration – consider joining me on the 21 day sugar detox program.
With mucho a latte of love and respect,

Omg. I NEED to do this. I feel like so many other things would fall into place if I could kick my sugar addiction. Thanks for the resource lead. I’m in the research stages now and plan to make this my resolution for 2013. I look forward to hearing how your Journey goes. Good luck!!

Alli, thanks for stopping by – congrats on making this year 2013 resolution! If you find any great resources, come back and share! We can help each other along the way.
I drastically reduced my sugar intake a few months ago…and I LOOOOOOOVE sweets. It was hard the first few days, but once you get over the bump, it’s done! I still have my treats now and then but my “have to have it” cravings have diminished. The incidental weight loss was great, too.
This is exactly what I’m after, Emelia! I want to treat my body better – and that is the first motivation. The additional benefits are awesome perks!
As you try to detox, I’m getting more and more sugar cravings. Mainly because I’ve been running on coffee and I don’t like the taste of it much. :p Good luck with your journey on sugar detox!
I hit a temporary detour with Thanksgiving. I don’t know why I didn’t think far enough ahead to plan better – but I’m getting back on the bandwagon soon. I often run on coffee, too, and I sure don’t like the taste of it without any cream and sugar!
